Citric Acic – also known as sour salt – has a bitter taste. It is actually the same chemical formula that naturally occurs in citrus fruits, including lemon, lime, grapefruit and oranges.

Surprisingly, Citric acid can also be used as a very effective household cleaner. It is completely biodegradable, and it is a great lime scale remover without leaving any unpleasant odor.

Citric Acid is used as both a flavoring and preservative in both foods and drinks (especially sodas) because it prevents sucrose crystallization. It can also be used in recipes in place of fresh lemon juice.
